Since 1963, SMM has brought the global shipping industry to Hamburg. More than 2,200 exhibitors from 70 countries showcase shipbuilding, propulsion systems, offshore technology and maritime digitalisation. As the world's largest gathering of its kind, it draws shipowners, yard managers, naval architects and policymakers for four intense days at Messe Hamburg. The city runs at peak season before and after the fair, with hotel rates climbing well above their usual level and restaurants on the Reeperbahn and around the Speicherstadt booked out for weeks in advance.
